Entertainment – To Watch or Not to Watch

Entertainment isn't a movie from which the audience expects outstanding performances or a good story. From the start, it was positioned to be a mindless comedy muddled with Bollywood emotional attyachaar. How far has this movie lived up to this is however, debatable. Here is what you should know before you plan on watching Entertainment! 

1) The story is illogical, predictable and drawn out. There is no build up - as a result of which, by the time the story reaches the climax you might get bored.

2) The dialogues did not work. Krushna did not make us laugh the way he had in Bol Bachchan! There were dialogues such as, 'I Rajni'cant' believe it' and 'tere toh zindagi ke Jacqueline lag gaye'.

3) Akshay Kumar has raised the bar of expectation high from giving hits like OMG, Special 26, Bhagam Bhaag, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, because of which a movie like Entertainment might seem little less enjoyable. 

4) Talented actors were wasted.  All expectations from  Prakash Raj and Sonu Sood could not be met. Having said that, they definitely were the saving grace of the movie. The Karan – Arjun reference in the movie was hilarious. Even though Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj could not live up to their potential, their chemistry was hilarious!

5) Tamannah in Entertainment reminded me of Katrina in Dhoom. She didn't have a huge role to play and her presence seemed ornamental.

6) The movie looks like it’s all about the dog, but the dog doesn’t really figure in it so much.  A lot more could have been done with the dog. So, for those of you who are going to watch Entertainment because of 'Entertainment', tone down your expectations. 

7) Johny Lever retains the ability to make you laugh. 

Final Verdict: If your love for Akshay Kumar overpowers your logic, then Entertainment could pan out to be a one-time watch for you
