Exclusive: Saqib Saleem Wants To Work With Alia Bhatt!

Saqib Saleem is winning hearts after his performance in Love Shot 'Koi Dekh Lega'. In a candid chat with us, he spilled the beans on his upcoming projects and more.

 From 3 hours to 3 minutes, how does it feel to be part of Love Shot 'Koi Dekh Lega'?

Talking about Love Shots, he said, "It's interesting ya. I enjoy acting in short films. The reason why I enjoy doing short films is that they're quick and you also get to do different kinds of things. For me, this role was also interesting to do as I was suppose to play a blind character. Overall it's interesting. But the whole idea is, you need to tell a story whether it's in a form of short film, a feature or a TV show. If that's coming across, your battle is won."

How easy/ difficult was it to showcase your best in just 3 minutes?

"It's difficult because in a feature you have more chances and opportunities to do different kind of things when you're playing a character but here within 3 minutes, I have to establish what my character is, where I come from, what do I do and what my motive is. So in that sense, it gets a lot more interesting and tougher."

 You will see me in Dishoom which is set to release on 29th July. Besides that, I am also doing a movie with Huma which is a remake of an English film 'Oculus' that is set to release in September. I am also hoping to make 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' sequel.

How was it working with Varun Dhawan and John Abraham In Dishoom?

Superb ya. I mean I really enjoy working with Varun and John. They're very chilled out people, fun co-actors and we had a great time. We use to work out together in the evening.

Talking about his role in 'Dishoom'

It's a different role. I play a cricketer in the film and I always aspired to be a cricketer in real life. For me, playing that on-screen was interesting.

If given a chance, which cricketer's biopic would you like to be part of?

Sachin Tendulkar! I am a huge Sachin fan. I just think I can love him in a way no one else can. I remember his innings, his centuries, where he was born, what's his date of birth. I am a true fan and I don't deny it.

P.S: Directors, we hope you're listening! We want to see him in a biopic and we can just imagine how good he would be! 

Given 3 choices: Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, whom would you like to work with?

"I'd like to work with all three of them. 'Ek picture aisi honi chahiye jisme teeno ho'." (Laughs) To this he adds, "But not being politically correct, I'd like to work with Alia. She is very spunky and very entertaining to watch on-screen."

Which genre of movies would you like to be part of?

"I would love to do all kinds of genres. But, if to choose, I would love to do action and romance. I am a sucker for romance."

"My favourite romantic movies are 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. "
