Game Of Thrones Episode 9 Review: Entries For Most Evil Character Of The Show Are Now Open!

Having put all previous seasons in perspective, each one of them slowly builds itself up on you to finally unleash the pill of ecstasy in the 9th episode that normally has held the legacy of being a shocker. Shocker in rather dismal and depressive terms to be precise! This time around, it took a little long for the makers to sort of build up the leisure they were going to shower upon us later. Titled Battle of the Bastards, the 9th of the season episode will almost certainly make you forgive them for the drag they took us through.

Yes there was anticipation, there was anxiety and there were nerves moving around to know what was going to happen after the escalation had straight away taken us to the battle. Of course when we say the show will have a new most evil character now, we sort of explain how it all turned out. But, before we move to Winterfell, let’s first reroute to the city of Meeren that got attacked by the masters in the last episode. Here again, it was much to the delight of the viewers how Daenerys once again acting as the mother of dragons along with the help of Dothrakis, spills a carnage and gets two out of those 3 masters murdered. While she obviously has her army expanding in proportion, she also forms an alliance with the Greyjoys who show up expecting her support to reclaim the Iron throne.

Things pretty evidently move to the battle of the bastards where Jon Snow along with an outnumbered army is waiting for Bolton to lay an attack. As clever as Ramsay is, he first kills of Rickon as rightly predicted by Sansa and then unsettles the nerves of Jon. Despite fighting with valour, a better strategized army of Bolton clearly makes them nervous until of course we see a surprise. Yes we knew there was going to be a reinforcement, the only question was who?

And there she is, Lady Sansa with a large army that’s been brought in with the support of Ladyfinger aka Lord Baelish. No prizes for guessing there, Bolton flees to his castle where after a sacrificing stint of the Giant, we are treated to what may only be termed as the most satisfying moment since Joffery’s murder. A hand to hand combat with Jon where he regardless of everything beats the hell out of Ramsay, only to keep him save for a more deserving death. Now that’s one secret we can afford keeping to ourselves so you don’t get any less of contentment than we did.

So, Winterfell is back with the Starks after a long tirade of seasons we had given up counting on. A resurrected Jon Snow has more than made up for his comeback and Sansa Stark has clearly seen the best of her days post Ned Stark’s death. With just one left in the box, if there’s a finish to the season half as fulfilling this episode, we’ll keep our complaints to ourselves. Let’s look forward to it!
