Haraamkhor v/s OK Jannu: Which Movie You Should Watch This Friday?

Friday is here and we all know what that means. And unlike the past two weekends, this week sees the release of three big movies in theaters. 

First off, there is Deepika Padukone's Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel in xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, which is releasing in India before it releases in U.S. and other territories. And as far as Bollywood goes, we see a big-budgeted Dharma production OK Jaanu starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur clash with an almost independent film Haraamkhor, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi (Masaan).

So which movie Bollywood fan should watch this weekend? We help you figure out by assessing important factors:

~ First things first, let's discuss the story.

OK Jannu

It is a story of a young game designer from Lucknow who dreams of emigrating to the US and living the American dream. But his life takes a turn when he falls in love with a girl, who is a recent architecture school graduate working in an architecture firm with aim of going to Paris to pursue higher education. Since marriage isn't an option and their departure imminent, they start to live together.

Haraamkhor

Haraamkhor tells a story based In a small town in Gujarat. In the story, a school teacher becomes very interested in one of his female students and this leads to the examination of characters of both.

~ Difference in the type of film

Like said before, OK Jannu is more of a mainstream film with elements such as song-&-dance numbers in it. On the other hand, Haraamhor is more in the parallel genre.

~ Which will be better?

While Nawazuddin Siddiqui's film has already been screened at several festivals to good reviews, there is no such pre-opinion on OK Jannu. Though, OK Kanmani, which is the source material for the film, received praise and commercial when it released in South.

~ Which one you should watch?

While both films have a romantic angle to it, it is OK Jannu that is truly a romantic film that mainstream Bollywood fans are more accustomed to. Haraamkhor, on the other hand, is more for those who watch movies widely and have a passion for experiencing new each time.
