    Vicky Kaushal

Every meal is a combination of protein and complex carbs for the 28-year-old actor. “Seventy percent is about what you eat and rest 30% is the exercise you do. I do a mix of body and weight training,” adds Kaushal. He believes in conventional workout which includes cardio warmup, weight training, stretching almost 4-5 days a week. He says that many think that more the protein intake, better the physique but it’s not true, “Protein needs to be used by your body and not stored in your body. Excess protein is not good,” he adds. Talking about his experience of getting into fitness, he shares an anecdote, “This is a funny one! I was so motivated and charged after watching Rocky, the movie, for the first time, that I woke up at 5am the next morning, opened the fridge, broke 5 raw eggs in a glass of milk and went for a run, just as Rocky did in the film. I came back from the run in half an hour with a terrible stomach and spend the next few hours in the loo,” says Kaushal who believes the right diet and workout is important.

    Saqib Saleem

The actor believes that the body takes shape in the kitchen more than the gym. “I try and follow a balanced diet, which is a mix of lots of protein and some complex carbs. One thing that I avoid is dairy products and sugar,” says Saleem. Talking about his daily routine, he does a mix of heavy weights and yoga and plays a sport whenever he gets time, “That’s the best workout. The one that makes me sweat is what I like, it has to be intense,” adds the 29-year-old. Talking about supplements, he does go for a whey protein but doesn’t believe in shortcuts.

    Ali Fazal

His go-to diet is a Ketogenic diet. “I know that diet control is way more important than the workout but the two go hand in hand. I don’t like to miss my workouts but with food there are endless combinations,” says Fazal. His daily fitness regime comprises cross fit training in the mornings as it keeps his heart rate up, “I get the drive when someone puts me on a timer and so the classes at cross fit work for me. They help keep the heart rates up,” adds the 30-year-old actor. Speaking about diet myths he says, “People think brown breads and vegan chocolate cakes are healthy. They aren’t but I wish they were,” says Fazal with a grin.

    Upen Patel

The actor believes that workout and diet goes hand in hand. He trains seven days a week cardio and weight trains three days a week . “I eat clean and have one day a week where I eat whatever I want. I have five small meals a day that are a mix of good carbs, fats and protein and take no supplements unless I’m travelling,” adds Patel. The 34-year-old says cutting carbs out is not good, adding that carbs are important part of our diet as one needs them for energy and our brain to function.

    Dino Morea

Dino Morea loves to play football almost three times a week due to which he eats a little extra carb, considering the energy needed to play a 90 minute game is immense. But if he plays once a week then he focuses on a
protein-heavy diet. “I just try to make it a point to workout, be it gymming, playing a sport or functional free hand at least five times a week,” says Morea. For him, weights and gymming is for strength training while functional stuff is for flexibility and agility. His favourite workout is playing a sport. “I play football, hockey, basketball, table tennis, tennis, swimming and even cycling,” adds 41-year-old actor.
