Here's The Real Reason Amitabh Bachchan's Character in Pink Wore That Mask

Pink is arguable the finest movies of the year. Of the many things that audiences like in the film, (other than the astute social commentary that the film provided) was Amitabh Bachchan's boss-like performance.

In a career that spans over 40 years, the legendary actor hasn't quite played a character like Deepak Sehgal, a retired lawyer who suffers from bipolar disorder.

One of the salient characterstics of his character was the mask that he wore at several occassions.

Though, at first, it looks like a mask to fight off pollution, it is not the case.

The mask that Big B was seen wearing in the film is actually called an elevation training mask.

The purpose of the mask is to restrict breathing which makes people who wear it feel like they are at a higher altitude than they actually are. The mask is very helpful. It helps the functioning of the lungs and fortifies the diaphragm, which in turn increasesthe overall lung capacity and improves the amount of oxygen a person intake.
