    So the inevitable has happened. After staying strong in its first ten days, Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark domestically, beating Ajay Devgn's Shivaay to the landmark.

    The Diwali release, which opened after much controversy, gained momentum at the BO right away. Observers have pointed out the star-power and more identifiable story as the reasons for this. Since then, the movie also benefitted from positive word of mouth from the audiences.

    And today, in the middle of its second week, the movie crossed Rs 100 crore mark, as confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

    This landmark news is especially noteworthy as it is the first Karan Johar movie that has crossed the 100 crore barrier domestically. Before this, his highest grossing film was Shah Rukh Khan starrer My Name is Khan, which grossed aboutv Rs 72 crore during its run.
