Here's Why Kishore Kumar Was The King Of Entertainment In Bollywood!

Kishore Kumar is considered to be the godfather of Hindi cinema. Some call him the greatest entertainer Bollywood has ever seen. He didn't need much backup for performing. Be it acting or singing, he was a genius of both the arts and sang for a mind-boggling 1,188 films and acted in 86 films. 

He holds a special place among the masses even 29 years after his death. The radio station bosses will be making the most of Kishore fever and making a killing on this phenomena. His songs lack the digital backing of synthesizers and electronic music beats, but these original tunes still exude a feeling of youth which used to rule the roost for a long time. 

But a side that people forget to appreciate is his acting as viewers can't spare time to watch old movies. His animated antics and a flair for practicality helped him become the performer he was. He left acting but kept on singing till late in his career. Each of his role was a gem of a piece of acting which we try to list out: 

1) Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi(1958)

Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi is a 1958 Indian comedy film. The film featured Kishore Kumar, his two brothers Anoop Kumar and Ashok Kumar, and Madhubala. 

2) Pyar Kiye Jaa

It was a 1966 movie starring Kishore Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Mehmood, Om Prakash, Mumtaz, Kalpana and Rajasree. It was based on Tamil comedy film.

3) Half Ticket

The movie is a whacky adventure gone wrong directed by Kalidas in 1962. Kishore Da plays a man masquerading as kid to skip purchase of a ticket. It also stars Madhubala and Pran in notable roles along with him.

4) Mr X in Bombay

The movie is remembered for the song 'Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi' which has several remakes by the band 'Sanam' and Yo yo Honey Singh featuring Mika. But Kishore da plays the role of a poet by the name of Sudarshan and falls in love with the heroine played by 'Kumkum'.

5) Padosan

Padosan is a 1968 Indian comedy film. It has a stellar and funny star cast which include Sunil Dutt and Saira Banu in the lead roles. The under-rated comedian Mehmood also stars in the movie. The movie has a paan-chewing red-lipped Kishore Da playing cupid for Dutt.
