Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, who will soon be a married man, is leaving no stone unturned to make his wedding a royal affair. From planning the entire ceremony in the romantic city of lakes - Udaipur, to roping in the best of designers, he is doing everything. The wedding celebrations began Tuesday with the ring ceremony where Neil and his fiancee Rukmini Sahay were candid and a colour riot.

It was a scene that popped straight out of a Bollywood flick when Neil went down on one knee and proposed to his lady love and proclaimed that her happiness made a worlds difference to him. Rukmini played the perfect sport and responded to the gesture with her own speech dedicated to her beau.

This was followed by the ring ceremony, some champagne popping, cake cutting and some heavy duty dancing when all the middle aged aunties and uncles took to the dance floor on a freezing cold Udaipur night that reverberated by the beats of DJ Suketu.

The revelry began with the ring ceremony, and will be followed by the mehendi and sangeet on February 8. Thursday, February 9 is the big day, with the haldi, chuda chadai and the nuptial ceremony, followed by a family dinner and a cocktail party.

Shobha De’s son and designer Aditya Kilachand designed the dress for Neil while Mumbai-based Sarath Krishnan designed Rukmini’s dress.
