Trailer Of Rajkummar Rao’s Newton Looks Another Winner That We Are Prepared To Fail

While we had only been hearing of this upcoming Rajkummar Rao film for a while, the trailer of Newton just came in. With each passing film of his, Rajkummar Rao is cementing his credibility notches high and this one looks to be adding another feather in his hat. Set in a contemporary Naxalite region that hasn’t seen the likes of an election polling, Newton is a film about a self –righteous young man who believes in going by the book and doing the right thing to create a difference.

Having a bunch of excellent screen artists like Sanjay Mishra, Pankaj Tripathi and Raghuveer Yadav, the trailer showcases Newton aka Rajkummar walking out of a marriage discussion owing to the girl being a minor. Setting up the tone clear enough the guy believes in the system and the rules, we are then introduced to a sensitive setting of a Naxalite area trying to have an election polling.

Newton who’s been deputed as the election officer then has an experience that is essentially what the film narrates. From an excellent Pankaj Tripathi delivering some of the best lines to Raghuveer Yadav brining in the much needed subtlety, Newton’s strength is in its ability to convey something very profound and yet keep a smile on our faces.

If the film turns out to be as good as the trailer is, we surely have yet another winner coming our way. However, going by the rate we as audiences have let down a lot of good movies this year like A Death In The Gunj, Trapped and so many more, the fate of this film is pretty uncertain. Let’s hope it finds itself in good health at the box office.
