So this is it. After a long wait, Ajay Devgn's passion project Shivaay has finally released today, But unfortunately that's all the good news that we have for you as the movie has proven to be somwhat of a disappointent.

Though the film has a decent cinematography and Ajay Devgn is commited in his role, but those reasons are not enough for the movie for the movie to be a good watching experience. You can read more on that here

The movie follows the story of Shivaay who has a special connection with Lord Shiva and makes his living by guiding adventure seekers on treks. The narrative starts with Shivaay getting romantically envolved with a Bulgarian tourist Olga, with whom he has a daughter. But since Olga isn't interested in keeping the baby, she leaves for Bulgaria and Shivaay raised the girl on his own. The story then focuses on the father-daughter relationship. But they hit a bump when one day the girl, named Gaura, finds out that her mother is not dead as told to him by his father but chose to leave her after giving to birth to her. So that's how they travel to Bulgaria and then things change once again, this time for much, much worse.

The film has four main characters. Other than Shivaay, Olga and Gaura, there is Anushka, who Shivaay meets in Bulgaria. Here are their character descriptions:

Shivaay's special connection with Lord Shiva doesn't only extend to his choice of lifestyle but he is kind of like a modern day deciple of Lord Shiva. He is angry, strong-willed and highly adventurous. Also, when it comes to protecting his family, he can be downright destructive.

Olga is a strong character, who isn't afraid to make her choices and stick by what she believes in. She lives for her family and understands the responsibilty she has towards to them. That forces her to make tough decisions but she has the will to go through with them,

Anushka both acts because of sympathy and her own moral code. She believes in Shivaay and his powers and helps him by putting herself her at risk.

Gaura, like her father, is adventurous and fearless. Being a kid, she also at times act impatiently and is driven by her emotions. But that doesn't mean she lacks understanding of the situation.

But as interesting as the characters are, the movie on the whole fails to make the best of them. One of the major hindrances the movie suffers is its illogicality. Shivaay, especially, has done some things in the movie that are not believable--not by a long shot. Movie has a lot of impressive shots, especially that of mountains, but that is just about the only thing the movie gets right.
