The TV serials of India have been largely based on saas bahu saga that was made popular by Ekta Kapoor. Serials of the late 90s and the early millenium focused entirely on a household and how the Bahu would overcome all obstacles to keep her home intact! As silly as it may sound, it was enormously popular. I am sure that we have all, sometime somewhere in our lives have saw Kyunkii...Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi or Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki!
