Dear Priyanka Chopra, Here's Why You Should Consider Coming Back To Bollywood

The American television series Quantico stole some precious talent away from Bollywood in 2015. That is when Priyanka Chopra shifted base to Los Angeles, U.S.A. The nation was excited about her new journey and lot of appreciation came her way for representing India on an international platform. But parallel to this apprehension grew stronger that Priyanka had probably taken off on journey which might drive her away from Bollywood for good. We indeed saw her shinning bright on big international platforms like at the Emmy Awards 2016, and joining in as a special guest on Heidi Klum’s Project Runway.

Meanwhile in Bollywood saw three releases with Priyanka in significant roles, namely Bajirao Mastani and Dil Dhadkne Do in 2015 and Jai Gangajal in 2016. The FBI thriller series aired on the American TV screen on 27 September 2015 on ABC and since PC got absorbed into giving her hundred percent to this TV drama.  If you thought that Hollywood was working too well in her favor, she bagged Baywatch the movie based on a mega TV series from the 90s. She will be playing the negative lead Victoria Leeds in the star studded movie with the likes of Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, and Pamela Anderson and that certainly meant a lot in terms of Hollywood exposure.

Priyanka’s Hollywood collaborations started with a career in music when she tied up with the Creative Artists Agency and sang international singles like In My City and Exotic featuring international stars like Pitbull and Will.I.Am. Quantico was certainly the next big thing for Priyanka Chopra but probably bigger in our imagination than what really reflected in the TRPs. The show wasn’t the sensation we hoped it would be and it’s season 2 went deeper in to the pit and the continuously falling TRPs of the show compelled the ABC to pull it off from its usual time slot of 10 PM on a Sunday evening and pinning it on Monday evenings instead. The biggest fear however is that the show that became Priyanka’s ticket to Hollywood, might go off air completely if the current trend continues.

Baywatch, the remaining big name on Priyanka’s Hollywood list, is all set to release on May 26, 2017. Excitement was high for trailer release of the film. We certainly expected to see much more of PC in it than her flash of a second appearance. Even though in that one second what we saw a smoldering hot Priyanka, but it really put us in a bigger dilemma. The fans who were really disappointed with the Baywatch trailer have already got into questioning if that’s all what Priyanka’s big Hollywood stint was worth.

The actress practically grew out of her Bollywood shoes to create something bigger in Hollywood and we are certain that the whole re establishing thing take a lot of time. But with Quantico failing and the Baywatch trailer turning out to be such a disappointment for the Priyanka Chopra fans, do we conclude that this is it for Priyanka’s Hollywood ventures?

Deepika Padukone who is also making her Hollywood debut in 2017, with xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, recently replaced Priyanka as Asia’s Sexiest Woman Alive for 2016. Priyanka was a constant winner of this title for four years in a row.

With both these Bollywood ladies making Hollywood debuts in the same year, the comparison was inevitable. With the trailers of both films out, Deepika certainly beat Priyanka’s Baywatch stint to pulp winning by good 16 seconds of screen presence in the xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage trailer.

So was this it for Priyanka’s Hollywood career?

Priyanka recently spoke in an interview to Bollywoodlife saying she misses all the song and dance of Bollywood movies and is quite home sick at times. We don’t know if these are any indications that the actress who has made a home for herself in New York, wants to return to India but there are certainly no Bollywood projects that she has signed here to balance out her otherwise the dwindling her Hollywood career.

If we look at all these signs of a stagnating Hollywood career, we certainly expect Priyanka to make a U turn and come back to Bollywood. While we wait eagerly to see more of her from the Baywatch frames, we are also anxious to see where it leads her career graph to? Or if Priyanka will surprise is with a new twist to her career? But as of now the anxiety is really a bit too much for Priyanka Chopra fans and we can’t wait to see which way she chooses to go, Hollywood or Bollywood.
