Raabta's Pictorial Review Will Help You Save A Lot Of Money And Headache!

Raabta's Pictorial Review Will Help You Save A Lot Of Money And Headache!

Spreading over two eras, Raabta is a reincarnation romantic drama starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon in the lead while Jim Sarbh plays the antagonist. Directed by Dinesh Vijan, the film is co-produced by Homi Adajania and Bhushan Kumar and hits the screen on June 9th.

We watched it for you and here's our pictorial review!

Raabta is the story of Shiv and Saira who fall in love in Belgium. Sushant Singh Rajput as Shiv, a banker who has come to London all the way from Punjab to work for a bank calls himself a crowd catcher, while Saira a chocolate maker calls herself a Patakha.

They meet and instantly feel that is a connection or "Raabta" as they like to call it.  But, like all movies this one has its villain in Neerja’s terrorsit, Jim Sarbh. The film is set in the modern era where Shiv and Saira realize their connection stretches from a different era.

Kriti Sanon is the weakling of Raabta as she doesn’t manage to convince us with her negligible acting chops, which reminds that beauty is not everything in Bollywood. Sushant Singh Rajput as the banker, who hits his century of sleeping around with women with Saira’s character, is still bearable and better than Kriti. Jim Sarbh takes the cake with his impeccable acting chops, and establishes that villains are sometimes bigger than the hero in Bollywood. Even the unrecognizable Raj Kumar Rao who underwent a magical transformation for this film couldn’t make a mark.

Raabta could have easily been a tad more edited and a few minutes shorter with may be more meaningful narrative. The visually spectacular songs didn’t save this movie and the experimental effort in the reincarnation sequence of the film.

Main Tera Boyfriend is the only big highlight of the music album. Ik Waari and Darasal are not too bad either.  The rest of the album is forgettable. Raabta has turned out to be one of those movies where the promotional song is more memorable than the movie. Sachin-Jigar’s music is being praised anyway and Deepika Padukone’s performance on Raabta song from Agent Vinod takes the cake.

Long story short, the first half is entertaining while the second half is absolutely dull. Raabta has weak performances and an absurd storyline which mar the entire experience of a film lover. Movies where you’re more involved in eating popcorns are certainly a waste of time!

The sad part is that you can see that the Director and the actors totally believe that they are onto a wonderful thing. The makers suffer from delusions and the movie from schizophrenia.
