Raees Trailer Proves That It's Not Just A Rich But A Racy Affair!

Raees Trailer Proves That It's Not Just A Rich But A Racy Affair!

As much as we love seeing SRK spread his arms and charm ladies all-round the globe, the fact is his best efforts have reflected most when he has either played an anti-hero or a man of different shades.  Raees in that sense is a great trailer with the story of a gangster/bootlegger from Gujarat! Raees shows us a philosophical opening of why the man does what he does but also believes in it. For others it is trade of illicit liquor trade and for him it is religion. Raees is unabashed and also cocky about what he does. That gets quickly established in this trailer. We are also given a good glimpse that this one is again a plot of a committed law breaker vs an equally dogged by the book bureaucrat Majumdar played by Nawazuddin.

The clash of SRK against Nawazuddin will be interesting to watch because what the trailer quickly establishes is that Nawaz has a good role in this one. However the female lead  in this Mahira Khan seems to have been cast only to keep the tradition on. The other stand out part is the absolute rocking background music which is almost Bappi Lahiri 1980s style yet does not torture your ears. This adds to the value because a smuggler chase scene on the sea will always need good background score. Raees trailer sure promises that! We may just have another actor glamorizing ‘Kajal’ ever since Amitabh in Agneepath made it a style statement. Trust me it adds to the intensity of the character like nobody's business.

Unless my gut feel of racy Masala thrillers is off the mark, which to borrow Raees' cochineal rarely is -  given the trailer Raees looks like all set to get Ammijaan's blessings at the BO. This trailer is as smashing as the sounds of those thousand bottles breaking in its opening moments. Unmissable! The calendar is marked. Waiting for Sir Raees!
