Anurag Kashyap’s Raman Raghav 2.0’s early reviews are out – and they are rocking.

The film, which has Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing a demented serial killer, was screened at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and got a standing ovation from the audience.

Foreign critics who have reviewed the film have praised Anurag Kashyap’s unique style of filmmaking and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s scary performance as Raman.

Here's what popular US Magazines Variety and The Hollywood Reporter had to say about Nawazuddin's performance:

In case you were worried that whether after last year's Bombay Velvet, Kashyap had lost some of his ability, you should stop.

Variety review states: "the verve and nerve of Kashyap’s filmmaking continues to excite." While Screen Daily review says: It’s a propulsive and bloodthirsty thriller with a brash use of music and a jangling, adrenalised energy which rarely flags."

Nawazuddin, who is now a regular attendee of the Cannes festival, has been regularly tweeting from the film festival.

Raman Raghav 2.0 is scheduled to release on June 24 in India.
