5 Real-Life Events That Truly Deserve A Film!

India is a country with a tumultuos past due to changing rulers and the numerous struggles for power. The quintessential Indian phrase that 'This happens only in India' also makes us remember that the events that occur in Indian context are totally different from other countries owing to the diversity. 

Bollywood makes double the movies, Hollywood makes with the number being close to a thousand. Still the filmmakers have kept avoiding making movies that are based on controversial real-life incidents which are hard-hitting and change inspiring. If by chance someone takes the onus on to themselves to take up a debatable subject, they stand to hurt a lot of sentiments and they even being politicised beyond proportion. 

With a hope of increase in number of movies that need balls of steel to go ahead with, we list out a few topics that could serve as an inspiration for these movies and trigger a massive debate in the country:

1) Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi(1948)

Nathuram Godse assassinated Mahatma Gandhi, but people with limited information blasted him and did not understand what actually perspired to his death. All the stories till now have told only one side of the story. A real story told without any prejudice would allow people to have their own point of view and not the final view of the majority! 

2) Emergency (1975-77)

3) Babri masjid(1992)

The demolition of Babri Masjid where a large marauding horde demolished a 16th century mosque in Ayodhya needs a reality check on how the political leaders play the politics of hatred and why the communal differentiation needs to be ripped apart by the current generation. 

4) Gujarat Riots(2002)

This unforgettable picture of Qutubuddin Ansari has seen numerous takes. The riots sabotaged everything in Gujarat, escalating differences between Hindus and Muslims were taken to a whole new level. Gujarat was burning while the innocents were getting killed. Several other controversies popped up after the riots about the righteousness of police forces and government. Narendar Modi who was the Chief Minister then is now the Prime Minister. Only Kai Po Che did something in backdrop of the rampage.

5) JNU Controversy(2016)

JNU has a lot of times been critices for imparting radical ideas. But radical ideas result in radical changes, which is the need of the hour. Videos showing the student gathering and making anti-india slogans left the whole nation against the university which serves the brightest of minds in the country.
