    Sholay, one of the greatest Bollywood movies ever made, was released on August 15, 1975. But if you think Sholay was a great hit at it's release, it wasn't. The movie had received different reactions.
    1. An unkown newspaper had published this review when Sholay released on 15th August 1975!

    2. The movie was getting mixed reactions from the film industry. Ace filmmaker, Prakash Mehra regretted rejecting the movie whereas, iconic music composer R.D. Burman didn't like the movie!

    3. There was not only difference in personal opinions, even magazines had diverse reviews about the movie!

    4. And it just got worse when the movie name was mocked!

    5. Besides the mixed reactions from the film industry, the craze of the movie in audience was at it's peak! A bus stand outside Minerva became the 'Sholay Stop'. Bus conductors would lead the passengers to the stop and gave them a black ticket of the movie!

    6. For the first time in Indian cinema, price of the tickets went above Rs. 100. Balcony tickets that costed Rs. 15 was sold at Rs. 200.

    7. Gabbar became so popular that Britannia used it to promote their Glucose D biscuits!
