Revisiting Spiderman The Iconic Marvel Superhero Over The Years

Superheroes, this term rings a lot of bells but one of the first few things that pop into our head is our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. This iconic hero has taken over many avatars over the years and his mantle has been passed along from one actor to the other. Every new actor that takes up the mantle of Spiderman adds more and more to this iconic Marvel superhero. Tobey Maguire, the first actor to take up the role of Spiderman in the year of 2002 brought the nerdy Peter Parker to life by giving his best performance and creating this persona that stuck with us over the years. This movie didn’t just establish Tobey Maguire as an ideal Spiderman but also gave a new look to Green Goblin with Willem Dafoe playing this antagonist.

With a series of 3 movies and degrading as the years proceeded Tobey Maguire retired as the iconic Spiderman. All these 3 movies gave the limelight to a lot of villains such as Doctor Octopus, Venom, and Sandman that were kept in the dark throughout the age of comics. This series earned a total of 1000 million dollars in the box office and the above-mentioned figure is more than suffice for a reason as to why is it considered to be most acclaimed Spiderman series to date.

After finishing the 3 movie contract Tobey Maguire handed over this character to Andrew Garfield. Andrew Garfield gave Peter Parker a new makeover by turning a nerdy and geekish character into a cool and charming guy. Though this spider man wasn’t acknowledged by the audience due to its diverging character when compared to the comics. But we all must agree that Emma Stone playing Gwen Stacy is the best thing in the entire 2 part series.

Adding more to the villain count this 2 part series introduced 3 new villains to the list. Rhino, Electro and the Lizard. This movie wants critically acclaimed nor won the hearts of the audience. But it still left a lasting impact by rejuvenating this veteran character. This 2 part series generated a total of 464 million dollars and though this figure seems quite less compared to the Tobey Maguire franchise we all must appreciate the work by Andrew Garfield to keep this superhero alive.

Enough dwelling on the past it is a dream for any superhero fan to see cinematic version and the comic version of a character to coincide. Making this dream come true. Marvel bought back the Spiderman they once sold to Sony and like all other Marvel casts this one is equally fantastic. With Tom Holland playing the new Peter Parker it is like a day in paradise.He seems to be the right candidate with all the comic timings and nerdy behavior that he portrayed in the MCEU’s biggest Captain America Civil War. Like an icing on the top of the cake, this Spiderman Universe also features the Avengers and that's like a dream come true.

With so many beautiful aspects to consider we’re pretty certain that this movie will earn a lot at the box office and will be a benchmark for all the Spiderman movies till date and yet to come.
