Salman Khan has been the highest paid Indian TV show host for a long time now. While he keeps hinting at walking out of the show every year for a number of reasons he projects, the relationship of his with the show doesn’t seem to end though.

So what is about Bigg Boss that Salman Khan has never really been able to walk away from it?

The answer is plain and simple: Money! The actor who’s single handedly grown the popularity of the show quite massively has become a compelling dependency for the producers and losing him is something they can’t afford. If rumors are to go by Salman has made well over 600 crores with his little stint with Bigg Boss in the last 6 years.

While he chose to keep his fees standard for the first three seasons, he was reportedly handed over a fortune post that. So let’s take a look at how much Salman Khan has added to his bank account courtesy of this prime time TV show:

    The Start – Season 4

Bhai had joined the Bigg Boss bandwagon in 2010 when the show was planning to air its fourth season. Stars like Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan had hosted the previous seasons and Salman was breaking out with his blockbuster success cinematically.

The actor charged a standard fee of 2.5 crores per episode and made a wonderful debut as show’s host.

Season 5 (Co-host with Sanjay Dutt)

Since Salman wasn’t hosting the next season all alone and remained absent for a number of episodes, he didn’t demand a fee hike and hosted the season along with Sanjay Dutt. While Sanjay was the sole anchor for a lot of episodes, Bhai was too busy to completely devote himself to the show. Despite that, his demand by the producers wasn't turned down.

    Season 6 (Gets First Hike)

In 2012 when Salman came back as show’s sole host, he was reportedly given a hike and charged around 3 crores per episode. That was the time when his stardom had hit the all-time high courtesy of his blockbusters like Ek Tha Tiger.

    Season 7 (Major Hike)

Salman had become an entity for Bigg Boss that had a high level dependency on his presence alone. This time around, he asked for a whopping 5 crores per episode to which the channel had no objections to.

    Season 8

While Salman had indicated that he may not necessarily come back to host the 7th season of the show since he had issues with contestants and controversies around it, yet another hike probably didn’t let him call quits. The actor charged a per episode fee of somewhere around 6-6.5 crores. However, he couldn’t complete the entire season since he had Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s schedule ahead of him and Farah Khan was later brought in to fill in his shoes.

    Season 9

Season 9 had almost made the producers look for a fresh host since Salman wasn’t really keen at all to continue his journey with Bigg Boss. While stars ranging from Akshay Kumar to Priyanka Chopra were in the touted list of possible replacements for Salman, the actor came back again since he was given yet another hike and made a huge 7.5 to 8 crores per episode.

    Season 10 (The Latest Deal)

This was yet another story of him threatening to leave the show and he had solid reasons to justify his exit this time. Salman who is producing the Indian version of the Swedish show ‘The Farm’ along with his girlfriend Iulia Vantur, didn’t want to get involved with a show like Bigg Boss that already has a big brand value.

However this time again, he used this as an opportunity to cash in and demanded a massive hike of 30 percent and to his surprise, the producers didn’t waste a second to oblige his demand. While he will be getting close to 10 crores per episode, it is reported that Salman has asked the producers to invest a major chunk in his charity foundation Being Human.

This is some stardom isn’t it? Maybe the two of them have become a habit of each other. Whatever it is, both parties in the business are going home with bags filled with moneys!
