Salman Khan, AKA the Bhaijaan of Bollywood has generated a spectrum of emotions with his defining role in Tubelight. The best part about the movie is that Salman was the protagonist yet didn’t steal the limelight from other characters. The spastic role played by Salman was quite gloomy in terms of the harassment the character faces throughout the 3 hours of runtime. Salman’s Character Laxman faces several atrocities by his peers who much his mental condition and even go to the extremes of physical violence when the find that he was in good terms with the Indo-Chinese. All of this added nothing but sadness and made our heart crack when he had lost his brother, the only one that he could call his own to the devastating Indo-China war.

We all know that we all have grown intolerant over the years and can easily make enemies but not friends. This element was beautifully and subtly explained in the movie. Narayan the character played by Md. Zeeshan portrays every Indian and our tendency to not comply or adjust according to external circumstances and adhere to our beliefs. Narayan like all others believed that war is a dispute of the people of two nations, but on the contrary, it’s a battle due to conflicting ideas and has got nothing to do with the natives of the respective nations. Mislead by his belief he attacked the innocent Laxman for being friends with the Chinese who settled in India a long time back. This subtly indicated towards the modern day scenario in India and how it affects all of us. Such narrative if understood carried a deeper meaning and talked to the audience at a different level which was very pleasing.

To complete the emotional spectrum the emotion of joy sprinkled throughout the plot. Laxman ( Salman Khan ) induces humor with his comical acts to construct a stronger belief throughout the movie. Be it his trials for the army recruitment procedure or be it him trying to innocently understand the good deeds of the great Mahatma Gandhi. These little moments of joy complete the entire spectrum of emotions that this movie tried to convey through its script.

Salman Khan did a tremendous job in acting all these emotions out and being transparent enough to share this emotional construct of his with the rest of the audience. It felt as if there was a deep connection between the audience and the protagonist that made us sad or happy based on the simultaneous events happening in the movie and that's all we expect from a good movie as an audience. Though the plot was a bit recursive in some sense and the VFX could have been better that doesn’t overshadow the good work done by the entire team of Tubelight.

The movie ends with a beautiful message that most of us didn’t appreciate and the message was that it’s important to have faith in your ideas and the better this world has to offer and that war is just a concept of greed but true humanity lies in thinking beyond geographical boundaries and making peace and friends throughout the world and if a spastic innocent guy can understand this so can we.
