5 Reasons Why Shah Rukh Khan's Raees Is One Step Ahead And Totally Worth The Wait!

A teaching of his mother becomes his life’s dictum, Koi dhandha chota nahi hota aur dhandhe se bada koi dharma nahi hota.  Raees’s devotion towards his work makes him the king for his work, which is bootlegging in a the dry state of Gujrat. But his mother’s teaching comes with a condition which makes everything legitimate only till it doesn’t harm anyone else and this condition becomes the life struggle of Raees. That and being called battery are two triggers of his life.

5 Reasons Why Shah Rukh Khan's Raees Is One Step Ahead And Totally Worth The Wait!

Telling a story how it must be told - The remarkable bit of the film is in its presentation and how it’s been executed from the beginning to the end. Rahul Dholakia’s direction stands out and speaks for itself. He had a story and a very clear idea of how to execute it keeping the suspense alive in every bit.

You’ll love it for breaking away from your expectations - The suspense doesn’t really drive you to the edge of the seat but every time you say to yourself ‘we know what will happen next’ it really cuts you off right there! Just as the protagonist, the film one step ahead!!

Promising performances -Shah Rukh Khan seems to have bred himself in the skin of the character, he’s that good. As for Mahira Khan’s part she does play a great role but her part is swallowed up by the bigger and more crucial characters. Similarly Mohammed Zeshan Ayyub’s caliber deserved more exposure. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is highlight of the film and takes away the cake with his ease, calm and casual attitude, despite all limelight on Shah Rukh.

Striking dialogues – Also a part and parcel of great story telling but a striking feature of the film. You will love the one on one war of words between Nawazuddin Siddiquie and Shah Rukh Khan. This makes for a special quality in the movie that while Raees fights and wins against all other villains in his life, he never really fights Nawazuddin physically but only with words! Feast on the incredible dialogues and some them will also keep ringing in your ears after the film is over.

For a lesson in tolerance – It might not be what the film is about but the message of religious tolerance practiced and propagated by Raees is a remarkable feature.  The practice of Raees’s value system is a great lesson and take away!

The film is a refreshing new twist in Shah Rukh Khan’s filmography and you would certainly want to see more of Mahira after this. Watch it for the action and suspense building and for Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s million dollar entry that you cannot miss!!
