SRK V Salman V Aamir: We Have A Box Office Winner For 2017 Already, Here's How!

The measure of any given calendar year largely depends on the number of releases its premium stars are delivering. While 2016 was heavily dependent on films like Sultan, Fan, Dangal and Raeees, the second SRK starrer had to shift its date to 2017. This left the game on an even ground as Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir were both left one release each. While Shah Rukh still has Dear Zindagi to come out later in the year, the film however doesn’t keep him in the lead light, is what we know.

2016 has already seen a winner until of course Dangal sees something magnanimous. While Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan couldn’t even touch the 100 crore mark, Salman made his second entry into the 300 crore club with Sultan. The battle is therefore between Salman and Aamir as Dangal is at least expected to fetch a guarantee of 200 crores and beyond. Does this look all downhill for Shah Rukh Khan and his fans? Not quite. Cheer up SRKians as he has decided to up his game in 2017.

Shah Rukh

King Khan is currently shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s slightly convoluted romantic drama in Prague along with Anushka Sharma where he plays a tourist guide. Going by the kind of elements the film is touching, there are lesser chances of the film falling flat. Overseas locations, romantic backdrop, SRK in romance, a seasoned filmmaker are all the factors that look like guaranteeing a success for Shah Rukh.

On the other hand, he is yet to start shooting for filmmaker Aanand L. Rai’s next, which is again a romance drama of a different league. While he plays a dwarf in the film, we all know how Rai is a pro at mixing sensibilities with a perfect flavor of entertainment. The film goes on floors in December and is certain to hit the screens by Diwali or Christmas. Thus another possible winner for SRK!

And lastly, we have Raees that comes out as the first of SRK releases in 2017. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, the film will come out on January 26 clashing with Hrithik’s Kaabil. With Nawazuddin Siddique, powerful plot, SRK as Don and a promising filmmaker, there’s enough reason why Raees is less likely to bomb at the box office like Fan did.

Hence, going by all possible combinations, Shah Rukh will most likely have a hat-trick next year. The last time he had a three film year was way back in 2004 when he came out with Main Hoon Na, Veer-Zara and Swades.

Salman

While he had a solo release this year through which he created a havoc, he has joined hands with Kabir Khan to recreate the same hysteria. Slated to release on Eid next year, Salman only has a single release in the year in the likes of Tubelight. While we have no doubts the film will take box office by storm, a single release will however restrict his numbers in comparison to Shah Rukh.

Aamir

We are not even sure if Mr. Perfectionist would have a release at all! Going by the trends and the kind of regime he follows, he will really spring a surprise if he comes out with a release next year. While he is said to have given his nod for Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thug, no official word has come out yet. The actor is least likely to start shooting until the release of Dangal which therefore guarantees that we will have an ‘Aamirless’ 2017.
