Shivaay V Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Box Office: First Week Ends, But The Game Gets More Interesting

After the Diwali battle started with Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil leading Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay by a fair distance, the action film sprung a surprise and started picking up later. Now as the first week officially ends, figures suggest the box office battle is going to get more intense. While the multi-starrer drama is clearly leading the game right now, Shivaay isn’t too far behind either.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil maintained a steady pace even after the Diwali holidays and submitted some solid figures of 6.18 crore on Thursday. With this, the film has now ended its domestic first week with a total of 80.19 crores. On the other hand, the Ajay Devgn starrer Shivaay that seemed a bit slow at the start picked up bigtime and levelled with ADHM on most days. The film also collected 6.05 crores on Thursday and brought its tally up at 70.41 crores.

What’s most exciting about this close battle is both these biggies get a vacant week ahead with no Bollywood release. With Shivaay closing in on the gap, it will be highly interesting to see how both these films fare in the coming week. While ADHM is certain to hit the 100 crore mark and put Karan Johar (the filmmaker) in the group, Shivaay would largely have to depend on the single screen numbers that are in its favor. As for the ticket counters, there’s no dry spell whatsoever in days to come!
