Sonakshi Sinha Starrer Akira Just Broke This Very Cool Record

A.R. Murugadoss' action-flick Akira, starring Sonakshi Sinha, has become the biggest female-centric Bollywood opener of in the Middle East region. 

The film, which also stars Anurag Kashyap and Konkona Sen Sharma, grossed $139,000 (₹92.91 lacs) on its first day in UAE and Gulf region.

The film has beaten the first day collections of other Bollywood counterparts. The film beat Neerja ($ 135,000) Mary Kom ($ 90,000) and NH 10 ($ 70,000) in the Middle East region.

The action film is expected to earn ₹4-5 crore at the Indian box-office.
