Here's All You Need To Know About The Cuts CBFC Has Suggested For Sonakshi Sinha's Noor!

A DNA report claimed on Tuesday that the board has asked the words “dalit”, Barkha Dutt” and a liquor brand’s name to be muted. “The word ‘Dalit’ has been muted from Noor wherever it occurs. Weirdly, the Board wants ‘sex toy’ to be replaced by ‘adult site’,” the report quoted a source as saying.

Regarding eminent journalist Barkha Dutt’s name, the Quint quoted a board member as saying, “Referring to real-life characters without their consent is not allowed. We gave them the option of either get the well-known journalist’s permission or to beep out the direct reference to her..”

Reacting to the reports, Barkha tweeted, “Barkha without the Dutt dear Censor Board is kinda like poori minus channa. More seriously, how bizarre is this decision !!”

Noor is based on Saba Imtiaz’s novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me!, and tells the tale of journalist-writer Noor’s misadventures and love life as she navigates her way through Mumbai.

Noor features Sonakshi Sinha as the title character, along with Kanan Gill, Shibani Dandekar and Purab Kohli in pivotal roles.
