Sonam Kapoor Has Cracked The Acting Code With Neerja!

It's been eight years since Sonam Kapoor forayed into films with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya', opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Though Saawariya didn't prove to be a hit, commercially or otherwise, Ranbir Kapoor's career still took off but Sonam Kapoor had a bumpy start. After 'Saawariya' it took almost two years for her next film 'Delhi-6' to release and that also didn't do the trick.

The trouble was, Sonam Kapoor was always tagged a fashionista. She is known for her fashion statement and style, and not particularly for her acting. Further, films like Aisha substantiated everyone's claim. 

But with her latest endeavour she has proved it to the world that she is as much an actor as she is a fashion icon. Neerja has proved to be a milestone in her career and she has aced it completely. Right from the audience to the critics everyone is in awe of her acting.

It is quite evident from the film that a lot of hard-work and training has gone in from both, the actor's and the director's side. Sonam Kapoor has done what she is not best known her. She has moved the audience and made them live the traumatic experience of a hijack. The story gets involving because there is no flaw that will divert the audience attention.There is trauma, pain, emotion and the fear of losing a young braveheart whom none of us knew.

Sonam made us all live that moment, experience that fear and unknowningly pray for the safety of Neerja Bhanot, who has been gone for over 30 years now. Though if we think a little harder, it is not the first time that Sonam has delivered a powerful performance like this. But since human memory is short and selective, we have forgotten about her role in films like 'Raanjhanaa'. 

Films like 'Dolly ki Dolli', 'Bewakoofiyan' and 'Khoobsurat' continue to dominate our mind. However, from now on we hope that Neerja's impact will never be lost and from here the graph keeps on going up and doesn't drop down.
