Here's Why We Believe That Stardust Awards 2016 Were Given Away Like Christmas Candies In Bollywood

In Bollywood it’s never a dull day as our beloved film industry is always churning out something for our entertainment every day. The award season has kick started in Bollywood for acknowledging the talente of the year 2016. Stardust Awards 2016 took place last night and what an eventful Bollywood night it was after all there was Priyanka Chopra also!

So while everyone has a fair idea of who would win what based on the year’s releases, this award ceremony was pretty surprising! If you do not believe us, you must take a take a glance at the winners of the Stardust Awards 2016 that took place last night!! Here is a list of the surprise winners –

Best Director- Karan Johar must certainly be thanking his stars that after all the controversy he at least earned this appreciation for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Now did you hear that MNS??

Path Breaking Director – Ajay Devgn winning this award is his biggest ‘In Your Face’ response in his tiff with Karan Johar. But after breaking all that ice in Shivaay we trust that Stardust gave away this award to Ajay for creating a whole new path quite literally!

Editor’s Choice Best Actress – Sonam Kapoor making an effort to act in at least one film was acknowledged with this category and we appreciate the critics for giving it to her if it encourages her to act in the future.

Most Iconic Performance – All this while we had the feeling that Sarabhjit could have been better without Aishwarya in it only to come to know at the end of the year that it was the most ICONIC performance of the year.. Why don't you go take a walk Randeep Hooda.

Next Generation Super Star – This one was a bummer! After Stardust gave him the best breakthrough performance award for Student Of The Year this was the only other Christmas candy left it seems!!

Best Film – Sultan winning this award is patriarchal Bollywood's answer to all the Pink loving feminists!

Best Actress – Anushka Sharma winning an award for Sultan still goes down with us but for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil?? And what  Alia Bhatt’s outstanding performances in Udta Punjab and Dear Zindagi??

Global Icon Of The Year – Because Priyanka Chopra flew down all the way from Hollywood and made it to the awards!!

FYI – M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story, Dear Zindagi, Udta Punjab, Airlift, Sushant Singh Rajput, Alia Bhatt, Shahid Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur were all appreciated in 2016 only!! 

And what about the really path breaking phenomena that was PINK and we couldn't get enough appreciating the film, it's performances and story this year??  Nothing could be more disappointing than missing out this movie at the awards!!
