Ever since it was announced that Yash Raj Films’ next project would be called Thug, there has been excitement among massive fan base of Bollywood. Which is understandable as YRF is arguably the biggest production house in the country.

But the buzz further escalated when details of the movie started to come out. And this week, the anticipated peaked as there were developments that blew our mind.

Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan will share screen space.

For the first time ever, Big B and Mr. Perfectionist will star together in the same movie. Yes, that is really happening.

A big-name director

Vijay Krishna Acharya is a big name for whosoever follows the biz. His last film credit was writing and directing Dhoom 3, which is one of the highest grosiing Indian films of all time. Just a reminder: the film had Aamir Khan in the lead role.

Actress being hunted.

Though, there is no actress on board yet, it is being reported that Deepika Padukone will be part of the movie as well. If this happens, she will also work with Aamir for the first time.

Inspiration

The film is reportedly based on Philips Meadows’ 1839 novel, Confession of a Thug. The book tells a story of an anti-hero in the rule of British Raj.

Release Date

Movie  has no confirmed released date yet. But given that the movie will go on floors next year, it could see a release date of Christmas 2017.
