The First Episode Of Sarabhai Versus Sarabhai Take 2 Is Absolutely Thrilling, Thanks To Arnab!

So very quickly, without wasting any time, here’s our first episode review of Sarabhai Versus Sarabhai Part 2 which is now live on Hot Star.

Arnab is back, but in Sarabhai Versus Sarabhai Part 2

Arnab (pronounced Ournab) is the ‘charming young grandson’ of Indu and Maya. He addresses his grandmother as Maya Dadi and Indu as Indu papa. Arnab has the traits of Maya and he is a mini Maya moving around the house. His mother Monisha is overtly proud of her ‘Haraamkhor No. 1’ son and admires him for his fluent English and elitist choices. She calls him Guttu, and we all don’t have to guess how Maya reacts on this middle class nickname saying, “apne sage legitimate bete ko haraami no.1 mat bolo!”

The fun fact is that, Arnab is a mix of Monisha and Maya. He uses one liner like “Ankhiyon se goli maar rahi hai” like a pro. The kid acts well and we’re hoping that he’ll eventually become more polished.

Rest of the cast is intact. Mahdu fufa aka Hain Hain Kumar is still very much alive in the show. Dushyant, Maya’s gadget freak son-in-law ‘s name on Indu’s phone is saved by the name “I’ll Explain”. The makers have tried really hard to bring back the nostalgia. Maya’s daughter is being played by actress Aishwarya Sakhuja who is a psychic tarot card reader.

    What’s the plot right now?

The show begins with the Sarabhais stuck on a bus which is hanging from a cliff. They all can die any moment and there’s a whole new backstory to this fiasco. The bus is loaded with Monisha’s steel dabbas and food and there’s literally no escape. One inch further and they’ll all be dead.

Maya blames it on Monisha for hiring a runway bus driver whose name is Talliram, a certified alcoholic, famous for breaking few signals on the main road. Maya insists that she wanted a driver called Nobendu Das who was a theatre actor cum driver from let me take you for a ride dot com.

Will they live or die? Best for you to watch!

    High points of the show:

Meri adhuri hai kamsin jawani, Mujhe achhi lagne lagi hai Jasmine Mawani

Rosesh is shown talking about ‘Meri adhoori si kamsin jawani’ when within a few minutes you see his new love interest Jasmine Mawani, who is a long lost relative of Madhu fufa.

“Meri adhuri hai kamsin jawani, Mujhe achhi lagne lagi hai Jasmine Mawani” says Rosesh, as he describes her in a mouthwatering phrase again! “Uski aankhen jaise brown and yellow paneer matar…” he adds.

Maya’s ‘Monisha murdabad sangathan’ is still alive as she frets the arrival of Jasmine Mawani who speaks in quintessential Sindhi-Gujarati accent, and most imperatively, in incorrect English grammar!

Rosesh has got a lead role in a TV soap called ‘Bahu machhar beta khachchar’ so he’s really elated about it. You will definitely notice his t-shirts and quotes written on them.

It’s such a tonic for the yes to see Monisha’s penthouse where she’s happily drying clothes in the drawing room, eating popcorns from a pressure cooker, keeping mixer on the couch. It’s a proper rush of memories from the first season, proving that everything is intact!

Maya has been warned by Sonia to go to Matkadhar baba because there’s an unfulfilled mannat which will backfire on Rosesh. During this conversation, Maya even says that SRK should change the name of his house because it’s mythologically down market. He reads futures using underwear, yes to read that right!

Jasmine’s words are like hard hitting arrows piercing through Maya’s heart when she says, “Have you saw my ballets?” The name of her play is Rameshia and Jagurti, an adaptation of Romeo- Juliet. She nails it when she says, “You have anyone in eye sights?” and Maya almost dies!

This episode is undisputedly a must watch and we’re super happy that this show is back.
