The Jungle Book Completes 100 Days, 7 Envious Records It Has Set

We are living in those cinematic times when any potentially strong film hardly lasts its box office journey for 3 weeks. Words like silver jubilee, golden jubilee are things of the past and the only terminology that a film’s success is measured through is 100 crores, 200 crores etc. Yet in those gloomy theatrical clouds, there’s this magical piece of cinematic creation that has completed 100 days at the box office.

The Jungle Book Completes 100 Days, 7 Envious Records It Has Set

Released on 8th April this year, the live action/animated movie The Jungle Book released. The film that changed every equation of Hollywood’s box office potential in India, has now set a record all other products in the business would be envious of. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film has completed 100 days at the box office and is still running at a lot of screens across the country. The distributors have also decided to re-release the film in some of the multiplexes again.

Here are all the records the film has broken at the Indian box office:

1st film to complete 100 days at box office in 2016

Highest grossing Hollywood movie at Indian box office ever – 187 crores*

1st Hollywood film to sail past the 150 crore mark in India

Highest grossing live action/animated film in India

Only film to not drop below 1 crore mark in first 25 days of its release

Highest grossing film in India without a star on screen

Longest running Hollywood release in India

Having earned so much of recognition at the box office with so much of profit behind it, The Jungle Book has made a league of its own. The film has set new benchmarks for all other releases and has pushed limits ahead. Whichever way, it is good to have a film finally celebrating the ‘Golden Jubilee’ at ticket counters.
