Salman Claims Stakes On Christmas 2017, Here’s What It Means For Aamir & SRK!

This had to happen! The highly tempting vacant release slot of Christmas 2017 that was lying vacant for so long was expected to be occupied by a biggie. It has finally happened and how!  No one other than Salman Bhai Khan has decided to make his second big screen appearance in 2017 through the sequel of his 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger!

To be specifically written keeping a sequel quotient in perspective, the film would start off from where Ek Tha Tiger ended and will also star Katrina Kaif. However this time, there’s no Kabir Khan at helm and the film will be directed by Sultan fame Ali Abbas Zafar. With Yash Raj’s official announcement about this colossal project arriving on Christmas next year, the permutations and combinations of box office have changed manifold.

Let us analyze how this grand appearance of Salman would bother both Shah Rukh and Aamir:

Aamir Khan

For the second time in quick succession, Aamir has had to let go of his favorite release slot that is Christmas. While Shah Rukh just a few weeks ago announced his ambitious project with Aanand L. Rai to arrive on Christmas 2018, Salman has now taken up the festive/new year slot of 2017 as well. Mr. Perfectionist as it turns out is settling for a Diwali release for Thugs of Hindostan. At a time when Shah Rukh, Salman and Akshay Kumar are doing multiple films to keep their contention high, the Ghajini actor isn’t willing to make any compromises and do another film.

It takes years for an actor to make a release slot his own property. With two consecutive years going out of his hands, Aamir should check his timings again.

While most of us had already anticipated that 2017 was going to belong to SRK for he comes out with films like Raees and Imtiaz Ali’s next, the tables have clearly turned with this announcement. Everything that Salman does he does it with style.  While most stars are struggling to find a perfect release slot for their films, the actor has already booked two of the most productive release times of the year – Eid and Christmas. The fading stardom that SRK had probably started experiencing wouldn’t resurface if Salman steals the show yet again next year. Hope he’s listening!
