For instance our favorite daily soap actresses who deliver strength and encouragement though their roles on their shows have to face their own set of difficulties in their personal lives. Stories of molestation and domestic violence are not unknown to these women as they are to anyone else. However only some voice their grievances and stand up for their rights and dignity. Here are the leading ladies from television that have been domestic abuse survivors.

Shweta Tiwari – One of the most popular personalities on TV, Shweta has endured domestic abuse in her first marriage with Raja Choudhary. Apparently Raja became too insecure when she started to gain a lot of popularity on TV. He often caused a scene on the sets of her shows and Shweta endured all of this for quite long for the sake of her daughter Palak. But finally in 2007 she filed for a divorce and a case of domestic violence on him. She is now happily married with her second husband Abhinav Kohli and recently delivered a baby boy.

Rashmi Desai – The actress was happily married to her Uttaran fame co star Nandish Sandhu. The couple suddenly shocked everyone with a separation which happened at the onset of 2016. Rashmi later opened up about her suffering and how she was abused in her marriage to the actor. While stories of them living separately came in there were also stories that it was because of her over possessiveness that the marriage fell apart. But later reports were abuzz with the news of her suffering physical violence. Her name has since been linked to other co stars, but Rashmi clarified that she is happily single.

Rucha Gujrathi – A popular face on TV the actress married her engineer boyfriend Mitul Sanghavi in 2010 and the problems their relationship to kick off. The interference of her in laws in her money matters and their attempts at making her quit acting, led her to file a case against them after they went on to attack her and her father. Some said that they even tried to starve her. Rucha separated from her husband and waited for the court to deliver it’s verdict.

Dimpy Ganguly – Rahul Mahajan had a grand wedding with Dimpy Ganguly on national television on the show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega. But soon the trouble in their marriage started and Dimpy was found complaining about Rahul’s drug abuse and domestic violence. The couple soon filed a divorce on mutual grounds and finally ended the story.

Daljeet Kaur – The popular TV actress tied a knot with actor Shaleen Bhanot and while everything looked hunky dory on the surface, she was suddenly seen rushing to the police station one day with complaints of physical violence against her husband. She spoke at length about how the actor once her beat up for trying to escape the house as she was threatened for her and her child’s life staying with him. Despite the complaints the actor has escaped after being given bail thrice.

Deepshikha Nagpal – The TV actress filed a complaint against her husband Kaishav Arora on the grounds of domestic violence. She even stated in the complaint that he threatened to kill her.  There were even complaints of physical abuse. They gave their marriage a second chance after all these stories but finally got divorced early in this year.

Rati Agnihotri – The actress shocked everyone when she filed a complaint of domestic violence against her husband after 30 years of marriage. She stated that she had in fact been suffering quietly for several years.

Mandana Karimi - The former Bigg Boss inmate complained that her husband Gaurav Gupta harassed her and made her give up her career. She alleged that she wasn't allowed outside home even to meet her friends. The duo got married in January 2017.
