4 Twinkle Khanna Performances That Prove That She Was Not A 'Terrible Actor'

It seems like Twinkle Khanna is forever in news for all the right reasons. Whether it is hilarious observations on Twitter or thought-provoking statements in her blogs, she is now one of our go-to social commentators on almost everything. And with her apperance on Koffee With Karan season 5 with her husband Akshay Kumar, she must have grown her fan-following multifold. Her lively appearance made the episode one of the best Koffee With Karan episodes ever.

But among her several hilarious one-liners on the show, one didn't sit too well with us. The former actress admitted that she was a terrible actress and because of it her acting career was short-lived. She also expressed that she was horrific in Mela, and it was because of the film’s epic failure that she decided to marry Akshay Kumar.

While her quip about Mela was not misguided, we don't really think that she was a terrible actress. And in fact, in her time, she gave pretty decent performances. 

Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai

The only notable success in her brief and rather forgettable career came at the behest of this romantic drama opposite Salman Khan. As a considerate girlfriend who is made to make a life defining choice, Twinkle Khanna did win a lot of hearts.

Baadshah

While it is largely remembered for no one else but Shah Rukh Khan, Twinkle’s contribution in the movie wasn’t just a passing affair. While she played along well in the first goofy first half, the tension filled climax had her display a different range.

Joru Ka Ghulam

In one of the rare comedies that she attempted in her career, Twinkle Khanna did evoke a lot of on screen flavor opposite Govinda here. As a spoiled stubborn daughter of Kader Khan, her portrayal was enough encouragement to the fact that she could do comedy as well.

International Khiladi

Possibly the most meaty character that she got to perform in the late 90’s, International Khiladi was a challenge she didn’t fear taking on. Investigating the chapter of brother’s death, she was both aggressive yet vulnerable when it came to making the right choice.
