Waiting For ‘24’ Season 2? Here’s Why You Shouldn’t!

    Waiting For ‘24’ Season 2? Here’s Why You Shouldn’t!

While you may have relished the first and previous season of this thriller drama series 24 starring Anil Kapoor and his team, the second of the series is awaiting its television premiere in sometime. Meanwhile, the trailer of the upcoming season was recently launched by colors TV giving us a sneak peak to the upcoming season.

Here’s the thing, the publicity designer (whoever at the work) had one job to do, to create a stylishly designed trailer for the upcoming series. And here’s what he did – take a look at the trailer:

2 minutes into the trailer and you’ll feel you’re watching an episode. One more minute and you’re half way through the series already. And by the time it decides to get over at just shy of full five minutes – congratulations, 24 season 2 has completely been watched!

    Waiting For ‘24’ Season 2? Here’s Why You Shouldn’t!

The trailer with an unsettling voice over that keeps using this name “Jai Singh Rathore” almost a dozen time hides nothing. From having introduced us to all major characters of the show to walking us through the complete premise including sub-plots and side stories, the trailer builds up your curiosity only to answer them the very next second.

Anil Kapoor playing Jai Singh Rathore was on a 24 hour long mission to protect the Prime Minister from an assassination in the first season. Here he’s dealing with a personal issue. Having lost his wife, he’s become an alcoholic and is currently in a rehab. Meanwhile there’s this other girl Surveen Chawla who seems to have been romantically involved with him. On the other hand, a bunch of terrorists are threatening the government to release a fellow terrorist played by Ashish Vidyarthi or else they will kill the city with a deadly virus (something that we saw in Ajay Devgn’s Qayamat.) The PM however is keen on getting Jai Singh Rathore back to the mission so they don’t have to kneel in front on the terrorists and meet their demands. An alcohilc Jai comes back with a mission, which is what 24 season 2 is based on.

Firstly, here’s a fresh screen grab of what the audiences’ feedback is like on the trailer:

Now here’s why it doesn’t excite us. While more than the half stuff has already been revealed in the trailer, the remaining one appears to be heavily inspired from so many thrillers we’ve seen in the past. How do the makers with such excellent marketing gimmick expect the audiences to show an ounce of excitement?

Without taking anything away from team 24 and Anil Kapoor, here's our advide. The next time you plan to come season 3, please be discreet as to what to show in the trailer! All the best guys.
