What Made Deepika Padukone Change Three Flights And Travel For 22 hours?

Actor Deepika Padukone is one friend that everyone would love to have in Bollywood, and filmmaker Dinesh Vijan would definitely vouch for it. Their friendship goes back to Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Homi Adajania’s Cocktail (2012), both of which were produced by Dinesh (along with actor Saif Ali Khan).

As the producer is making his directorial debut this year with the film, Raabta, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon, he said he couldn’t do without having Deepika in it. “We’ve known each other for quite a few years now. More than a friend, she’s family and I couldn’t possibly think of doing my first film without at least a glimpse of her in it. She’s lucky for me,” says Dinesh.

Deepika, too, has always maintained that Dinesh is a friend she can always count on. That’s why, when Dinesh called her to shoot for the title track of his film, in spite of her chaotic schedule, she instantly agreed. Sources say that the actor, who was shooting in the US for xXx: Return of Xander Cage, had to travel 22 hours, changing three flights to reach Budapest, the night before the shoot.

“Deepika landed and came straight to the sets to meet Dinesh. She spent time with the team and then left for her costume trials and choreography sessions. It was like a homecoming for her,” says the source. Keeping his promise, Dinesh finished her shoot in one night, so that she could fly back to the US.
