Bollywood Celebs Who Were Upset About Not Being Nominated For Awards Despite Good Performances

When you think of the job of an actor, it is indeed a really insecure one. So much blood and sweat goes into creating something that might just be completely torn apart by audiences and critics. While box-office numbers and critical appreciation is one way of assessing success, for every actor an award also means a lot.

Thus it is understandable why sometimes celebs get upset over how award ceremonies function. It is not just about winning an award, but sometimes celebs do not even get nominated despite good performances. Here are a few Bollywood celebs who got upset about not being nominated for awards.

Varun Dhawan

Last year was somewhat lukewarm for Varun Dhawan after bumper hits like Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Judwaa 2 in 2017. Both his releases, October and Sui Dhaaga were successful in their own way and Varun’s performance in both the films was widely appreciated. But, recently in an interview, Varun opened up and accepted that he felt bad when he was not nominated for his performance in October.

Vidya Balan

Before Dirty Picture made Vidya Balan a sensation, she was still trying to find her footing in the industry. It was during that time she gave a memorable performance in Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa. However, when the award season came, Vidya’s name was nowhere to be seen. She later accepted that the incident hurt her a bit.

Taapsee Pannu

This was perhaps one of the biggest snubs of the award season this year. With films like Mulk and Manmarziyaan, Taapsee gave performances that delighted the cerebral cine-goers and her name missing from the Best Actress nomination came as a shock to us all. Although the actor did not say anything directly, we understood how upset she was when she said that maybe it is not in her ‘kundali’.

Special Mention: Kangana Ranaut

Well, we know that Kangana thinks that National Film Awards will lose its credibility if she does not win it for Manikarnika. Well, forget awards, even the chances or her getting nominated for Manikarnika seem slim thus we are sure we have a really pissed Kangana in store for us.
