Shah Rukh Khan's Zero With Aanand L. Rai Is Carrying Best Hype And Positivity Since His Chennai Express

This happening after five years, and it seems like a really long time back.

2013 - This is when Chennai Express released. The fact that Shah Rukh Khan, Rohit Shetty and Deepika Padukone were coming together was a reason good enough to rejoice for their fans and industry at large. The promo met with a very good response, the songs were chartbusters as well, the buzz was good, the air of positivity was breezy and eventually, the opening was pretty good as well. The film sustained as mass as well as class audiences continued to throng theaters in A, B and C centers.

The film went on to amass 227 crore and emerged as a Blockbuster!

Alas, that was the last Blockbuster that Shah Rukh Khan delivered after a string of successes that he had seen in 20 years prior to that.

Not that his subsequent films were all unsuccessful. Happy New Year was a Hit, Dilwale made money too and so did Raees. However, Fan failed and Jab Harry Met Sejal was a disaster. In between this there was an extended special appearance by him in Alia Bhatt's Dear Zindagi which was a success.

However the quintessential Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster was missing, and the wait turned out to be way too long between 2013 and 2018.

Paanch saal, now that's a very long time for King Khan whose name still sells products worth millions. However, his own films were not quite making the kind of millions that they should be. Thankfully, all of that is now expected to change with Aanand L. Rai's Zero.

Aanand is himself bringing a directorial venture of his on the big screen more than three years after delivering a Blockbuster in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. That was the first small film to not just go past the 100 crore mark but even cross the 150 crore milestone. He could have gone ahead and directed at least three films in these three years. However, he chose to invest his time, energy and skills in Zero which is not just his biggest but also one of the most ambitious films picked by Shah Rukh Khan.

One look at the promo and the songs and you know that it was a wise decision on the part of actor-director combo to indeed make this a special one. As a dwarf, Shah Rukh Khan is truly loveable and Anushka Sharma is showing once again that she is a talent that has so much more to offer with every film of hers. Their combo may not have been lapped up in Jab Harry Met Sejal but rest assured it is going to be the sweetest spot of Zero. And then there is of course Katrina Kaif who knows what she can deliver best and that too unabashedly.

No wonder, the kind of positivity that the film is bringing with this is infectious. The combination is just bright. Shah Rukh Khan's stardom coupled with Aanand L. Rai's brand of storytelling is promising to be a lethal combination and that should ensure a very good opening at the Box Office. Though a few weeks still remain for the film's release and it would be only closer to its arrival when one would know where the opening collections would eventually stand, all said and done it would be huge for sure.

Meanwhile, what Shah Rukh Khan would be looking forward to is not just the initial footfalls but the sustenance, as this is what would be the true testimony of the content that Aanand has to offer. If the manner in which Zero has already begun is any indication, this one could well be racing towards the millions!
