6 Bollywood Stars Whose Most Ambitious Projects Failed To Perform Upto Their Expectations
Each Bollywood star learns something from each film that they are making but there are certainly some ambitious projects which they invest themselves in expecting groundbreaking results. Well, all of the big superstars have put their ambitions to test but not all of them have succeeded in their plans. Here are actors whose most ambitious projects did not reap the results they were expecting.
Ajay Devgn – Shivaay
The film was in the making since 2014 and Ajay Devgn made sure that his directorial was world class in its visuals and had a great narrative to support it. With some incredible life-risking action sequences to a strong emotional connect the film had it all. The film was made on a large budget of 90 crores and was able to fetch 100 crores at the box office. But the film did suffer from its clash with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and performed average at the box office much against Ajay’s ambitions.
Shah Rukh Khan – Ra.One

The film was Shah Rukh’s most ambitious attempt in Bollywood. The superhero film was made on a budget of 150 crores and was pioneering great visual effects and 3 D effects movement in Bollywood. With a nearly 9 months promotional campaign, the film failed to perform as per anyone’s expectation. The film was a hit but fetched no huge profits.
Aamir Khan – Magal Pandey
The actor took 4 years off from his Bollywood career and took a year and a half to prepare for the role. Not only did he grow his hair and moustache for to look the character based on the 1857 armed mutation against the British, but Prince Charles himself snapped the clapboard to the first shot of the film! After all of it the film tanked miserably at the box office despite good critical acclaim.
Hrithik Roshan – Kites
Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan teamed up to an international blockbuster. The film had Mexican beauty Barbara Mori in the lead and was the biggest Indian release in North America at the time and the film was to release in nearly 60 countries. The film is one of the biggest flops of Bollywood today.
Akshay Kumar – Blue
The 2009 flick was the first film in Bollywood be made on a budget of 100 crores. The thriller opened well at the box office but the bad reviews hit the collections of the film and it tanked at the box office making nearly 75 crores only.
Ranbir Kapoor – Jagga Jasoos
It was Ranbir Kapoor’s first film as a producer and the actor took his time perfecting it by the second. He took so long that the film released after a 2-year long delay. But the amazing visuals and appeal failed to draw audiences to the theatres.
