Ajay Devgn Set For A Hat-Trick Of Successes In 2018 After 200 Crore Club Entry Golmaal Again

Ajay Devgn has entered the list of those select superstars who have a 200 Crore Club film to their name. With Golmaal Again going past the 205 crore mark, the film has turned out to be one of the biggest comic entertainers of all times. Now that says a lot about Ajay Devgn as an actor since his release prior to that [ Baadshaho ] was a high decibel dramatic affair whereas the one before that [ Shivaay ] was an action affair. As he jumps from one genre to another at a rapid pace and good ease, one now looks forward to what the actor has to offer in 2018.

As thing stand today, the year is set to be one of the most prolific for Ajay Devgn in quite some time. He has as many as three films in different stages of production and while a couple of them are definitely set for release, there is good possibility of him scoring a hat-trick in 2018. These films are Raid , Total Dhamaal and an untitled romcom affair with Luv Ranjan.

Ajay Devgn is known for shooting his films in a jiffy (unless it is something on the scale of Shivaay) and Raid is yet another instance where he has started and finished a movie in a quick time. The film is an out and out drama with strong elements of thrill in there. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta who is returning to filmmaking five years after Emraan Hashmi starrer Ghanchakkar [2013], the film also pairs Ileana D'Cruz once again with Ajay Devgn after Baaadshaho.

By the look of things, Ajay Devgn seems to be enacting a no-nonsense character in the film which has also been made on a controlled budget. Set for release on 16th March, the film is bound to be in news once other biggies like Padmavati and PadMan would have released, hence paving way for the next big one.

Total Dhamaal - Diwali 2018 (expected)

An official announcement is yet to come by for the exact date of Total Dhamaal release but all said and done it would be arriving in 2018 for sure. As of now, strong buzz is already on that the Indra Kumar directed affair is aiming for a Diwali release. Ajay Devgn was not a part of Dhamaal or Double Dhamaal but now in third of this series, he is coming in place of Sanjay Dutt . The actor has shown his flair for comedy in number of films already and with Golmaal Again he has already reached a peak. What has to be seen though is how much further does Total Dhamaal go once it arrives at the big screen.

All said and done, while one waits to see the quantum of success that Total Dhamaal manages, what is sure though is that the film would emerge as a good success definitely due to its family entertainment appeal.

Untitled romcom with Luv Ranjan - Dusshehra 2018 (19th October )

Will Ajay Devgn arrive on Diwali as well as Dusshehra? Seems unlikely because no actor would like to have a gap of just three weeks between two of his films, especially when the stakes are so high. This means either Total Dhamaal or his untitled romcom with Luv Ranjan would see a shift in the release date. However, whenever the latter film arrives, it would make for an interesting watch for sure because it would be a new experience for the majority of the audience to catch Ajay Devgn in a rom-com genre.

The film is being directed by the man who has made Pyaar Ka Punchnama as a genre in itself. Luv Ranjan too is changing gears with the Ajay Devgn romcom which is definitely not an out and out comedy in the offering. However, youth is definitely being enticed with this film which would also be featuring a young actress. Meanwhile, Ajay also has Tabu for company and together they are expected to bring back quite some nostalgia on the big screen.
