10 Big Box Office Clashes Of Bollywood That Are All Set To Make 2018 A Very Interesting Year

Just as has been the case in last few years, it would be no different in 2018 either when quite a few clashes would be erupting at the Box Office. Let's take a look at 10 such clashes that would be making news.

Padmavat v/s PadMan v/s Aiyaary - 25th January

 

So far, it was only about PadMan and Aiyaary gearing up to take on each other at the Box Office. However, with Padmavat entering the arena as well, the situation is turning quite murky. Will it be a three way clash? That would be counter-productive for sure. Will there be two biggies taking on each other? Well, reminds of Raees v/s Kaabil in 2017.

Pari v/s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety - 9th February

 

All said and done, Pari and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety wouldn't be alone when they arrive on 9th February. Reason being that at least one film slated to release on 25th January would definitely move to this date and that means either Pari or Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety would move ahead. All said and done, there is quite some uncertainty around which of these films will eventually clash but yes, there would be a clash for sure.

Parmanu - The Pokhran Story v/s Hichki - 23rd February

 

So far, Parmanu - The Pokhran Story and Hichki have been slated for 23rd February release. However, it won't be surprising if there is a reshuffle of sorts here as well. Reason being that PadMan, Pari and Parmanu - The Pokhran Story are all KriArj productions and if the former two films move around, the impact may be felt on the third too. Again, there would be clash but between which two films is to be seen.

Drive v/s Hate Story 4 - 2nd March

 

There is sanity expected to be restored from March onwards and though there is a clash in the making, at least it has been pre-announced. Drive is an action film starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez whereas Hate Story 4 is an erotic drama featuring Urvashi Rautela . While former is a Karan Johar production, latter is fourth in the series of a successful franchise. Time to bring on different audiences.

Race 3 v/s Fanne Khan - 15th June

 

Eid would see a major clash with Salman Khan 's Race 3 and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Fanne Khan arriving on the same date. Of course their history means a lot of media interest would be surrounding the two films. That said, Race 3 has a lot of interest due to the franchise factor as well whereas Fanne Khan has Anil Kapoor leading the show in fact with Rajkummar Rao as a superb add-on. Both films are quite different.

Vishal Bhardwaj's next with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan v/s Sui Dhaaga - Made In India - 2nd October

 

Gandhi Jayanti release is quite close to Vishal Bhardwaj's heart, as was seen in case of Haider as well as Talwar. Now he is bringing his yet untitled mafia drama with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan on the same date. Meanwhile, there is another interesting film lined up in the form of Sui Dhaaga - Made In India which has Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma as leads and Shoojit Sircar as the director. Bring it on!

Ajay Devgn – Luv Ranjan’s Next v/s Junglee - 19th October

 

On a regular Friday, the clash of Ajay Devgn and Vidyut Jammwal would have been seen as coming together of two action heroes on the big screen. However, it is going to be different on the Dushehra weekend since even though Vidyut's Junglee is an out and out action affair, Ajay is taking a softer route with a romcom this time around. Luv Ranjan is already gearing up to direct this film after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.

Thugs of Hindostan v/s Haathi Mere Saathi - 7th November

 

So far it had seemed that Aamir Khan would be enjoying a home run this Diwali with Thugs of Hindostan. However, he would be seeing company in the form of Haathi Mere Saathi which has Rana Daggubati in lead with (of course) an elephant. Both films are adventure sagas, are aiming for the family audiences and are made for big screen viewing. This isn't all as VFX would be playing a major role in the narrative.

Total Dhamaal v/s Namastey England - 7th December

 

Though 7th December isn't a holiday, there are still two biggies vying for this date. Total Dhamaal is a huge multi-starrer as it features Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit along with Riteish Deshmukh , Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffrey. On the other hand Namastey England is Vipul Shah's sequel to Namastey London and features Ishaqzaade pairing of Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra . Very interesting!

Zero v/s Kedarnath - 21st December

 

Though Kedarnath producer Prernaa Arora has expressed that she is willing to move around the date of Kedarnath, a new date is yet to be officially announced. Till then it seems Sushant Singh Rajput and debutant Sara Ali Khan 's romantic musical would be releasing on the same date as Zero. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has already made a splash with its teaser and the Aanand L. Rai film is as special as it gets.
