Well into its third week Bala continues to bring audiences to the theatres and so far has minted Rs. 100.15 crores at the box office. A film about a guy facing insecurities with premature baldness and not find a partner has made people laugh hysterically and got thumbs up from reviewers all over.

The film also star Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar and had its run-in with a fair share of controversies before it finally released. The most prominent being the film’s similarities in concept with Sunny Singh starrer Ujda Chaman which released a week prior. Bhumi Pednekar too got dragged into a massive controversy for playing a dark skinned girl in Bala and many questioned why a dusky actress could not have been cast.

Director of the film Amar Kaushik recently spoke on the controvery and pointed out that if audiences did not have a problem with Ayushmann playing a bald guy then there shouldn’t be an issue if Bhumi plays a dusky girl.
