Whether we like it or not, nepotism debate has a way of enetering daily discourses in Bollywood. No matter which side of the debate you align yourself with, there will always be instances that will sway your opinion once in a while.

Just like no one can doubt that we are thankful to nepotism for giving us actors like Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt , we also cannot deny the fact that there are many who would have never even been allowed even in the vicinity of the acting profession.

This year also we saw the same trend. While there were performers like Ishaan Khatter who made us negate nepotism, there were also some performances that made us curse nepotism. Here are a few industry-backed debuts of 2018 that failed to create any impact.

Ayush Sharma

Being the brother-in-law one of the biggest superstars of the country does not come without its perk. From promoting the film with his own name to having cameos by Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, the Khan family left no stones unturned to make Ayush Sharma’s debut successful. But unfortunately, Love Yatri turned out to be totally underwhelming.

Utkarsh Sharma

Irony died a thousand death when the man who made one of the most iconic blockbusters of Hindi cinema with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, launched his own son with an eyesore of a film. We are talking about Anil Sharma and his son Utkarsh Sharma who was launched this year with the film named Genius. Literally, that’s all we know and all anyone needs to know about the film really. Enough said.

Aisha Sharma

Not that Aisha’s filmy connection is a superstar herself, but still Neha Sharma is a legit Bollywood celebrity. Thus when her sister had her debut planned with John Abraham, we were excited. But even though Satyameva Jayate went on to become a major hit, Aisha Sharma’s role in the film was as important as the role meat in a veggie burger. Safe to say, despite the success of her film, Aisha Sharma will have to work really hard to be even considered as an actor seriously.
