Jabariya Jodi Box-Office Day 1: The Sidharth-Parineeti Starrer Has A Slow Start

After Hasee Toh Phasee, Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra teamed up once again for Jabariya Jodi, which released yesterday. Thanks to their fandom and the fact that two immensely good-looking people would be working together, we were quite excited for the film. But could the box-office numbers reflect the hype that was created around the film?

Well, the first day numbers of the film are here and sadly, it isn’t too great. The Siddhath-Parineeti starrer opened to a mere 3.15 crores on Day 1. The fllm was one of those with a very commercial appeal and it was predicted to open above 4 crores.

Well, given the slow start, the film does need to pick up a lot of pace on Saturday and Sunday to turn average. In fact, the film might benefit from the holiday on Monday, but with two big releases on Independence Day, it has relatively less time to mint money.

Jabariya Jodi is a film about forced marriages of groom in Bihar. The film has received not so great critical reviews, with critics claiming that Sidharth looks too good to be a tough muscle flexing blackmailer and Parineeti has nothing new to contribute to her role.
