Mission Mangal Becomes Akshay Kumar’s First 200 Crore Film And The Biggest Independence Day Release!

Mission Mangal is smashing records, even almost a month after its release. The film, that released on Independence Day is still growing, despite releases like Batla House, Saaho and Chhichhore. In fact, the film has been reaching new milestones and yesterday, the film entered the coveted 200 crore club.

Yes, you read that right. Mission Mangal had become the highest grossing film for Akshay Kumar some time back. But now, it has also become Akshay’s first film to enter the 200 crore club.

In fact, the collections also surpassed that of Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger and is now the biggest Independence Day release of all times. The production house, Fox Star, has also been benefitting from the film. This is the third film under their banner, after Sanju and Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, to reach the 200 crore club!

This is the fourth film of 2019 that has reached the 200 crore club. The other three are Kabir Singh, Bharat and Uri: The Surgical Strike. Here is how many days the films took to reach the feat!

Well, we are hoping that it will collect even more in its lifetime. His films, Housefull 4 will release in October this year and Good News will release on Christmas!  Akshay Kumar is all set to rule 2020 as well with three major Holiday releases. Besides Sooryavanshi in March, he will have Laxxmi Bomb during Eid, Prithviraj during Diwali and Bachchan Pandey during Christmas!
