Mission Mangal Box-Office Day 8: The Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan Starrer Remains Unbeatable Even On Weekdays

Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan have clearly delivered another knock-out punch with Mission Mangal. The film gave its entire cast their highest openings with a collection of Rs. 29.16 crores and has continued to have a dream run at the box-office. Despite being a weekday, the film collected Rs. 6.93 crores.  With this, the total collection of the film now stands at Rs. 128. 16 crores.

After opening with Rs. 29.16 on its opening on August 15^th, the film collected Rs. 17.28 crores on Friday, Rs. 23.58 crores on Saturday, Rs. 27.54 crores on Sunday, Rs. 8.91 crores on Monday, Rs. 7.92 crores on Tuesday and Rs. 6.84 crores on Wednesday. Despite the sharp dip on Monday of almost 20 crores, the film has been rock-steady at the box-office.

The film received a mixed response from critics but the word of mouth has generally been positive. Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film tells the inspiring story of ISRO scientists who made the historic Mars Orbiter Mission of India possible. Apart from Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, the film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, Nithya Menen, and Sonakshi Sinha.
