The Only 5 Films Of The 100 Crore Club That Are Not Hits

100 crore is prestigious number that any movie in Bollywood really aims at achieving. Right from Aamir Khan’s Ghajini that introduced Bollywood to club to the movie industry, we have gone from making films 100 crore hits to now producing films that have a budget of over 100 crores. But we are now fast moving to an era where some big stars like Salman Khan have also started off giving flops that have made 100 crores at the box office. Here are the only 5 films of Bollywood that made it to the prestigious 100 crore club and yet are not hits!

Race 3 – The terrible third installment of the Race franchise taken over by Salman Khan is 2018’s most trolled film by far. The film made a collection of 169 crores and yet failed to register a HIT against its name.

Dilwale – The failed attempt at putting together a Kajol and Shah Rukh reunion by Rohit Shetty turned out to be a display of disastrous movie making. The film still managed to earn 100 crores, 148 crores to be precise and was declared not a hit but an average watch!

Tubelight – The only few films where Salman Khan tried to experiment and shift from his machoism. The film also had a Shah Rukh Khan cameo to boast of, but it still did nothing to move the audiences to theatres. Needless to add that despite a box office of 121 crores, the film tanked.

Jai Ho – Another Salman Khan movie, that did a business of over 100 crores and came out with an average verdict. The film that aimed at building a human chain of doing good and starting a social movement but had a very contrary outcome. The film did a business 111 crores.

Shivaay – Ajay Devgn’s ambitious action directorial that did not turn out as imagined and grossed just 1 crore over and above to make it to the 100 crore club. To be honest, the film had class action but the lack concrete of a storyline did not help its case.

It seems like only the start but we really hope that Bollywood learns from mistakes like these.
