Popular Stars Of Bollywood Who Have Not Given A Solo Hit Since 2001

No matter how much we love our 90s throwback, no one can disagree that despite being a magical time for us, 90s has had its fair share of bad Hindi cinema. There is so much that has changed in Bollywood in all these years and most of it has changed for good. There are many directors and actors who have been a part of this change and most of them successfully transitioned from 90s t0 2000s. The three Khans, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn are all superstars of 90s who are still ruling the business.

However, there are a few stars who seem like they have made a successful transition to 2000s, but the truth is there are indeed some stars who are popular even now, most;y because of their successful multi-starrers, but the truth is none of them has given a single solo hit since 2001.

Anil Kapoor

Yes, we said it. This is not to discredit his skills or merit as an actor, but if you carefully analyse his box-office graph, it pretty evident that his hit films include the ones which are not successful only because of him. In fact, Anil Kapoor has really not given a single solo hit as a lead since 2001 even though he has done several solo lead projects like Nayak, Badhai Ho Badhai, Rishtey and many more solo lead films.

Bobby Deol

Bobby Deol’s sinking career has become a raging topic of discussion recently. Bobby has time and again tried to winback the popularity that he used to enjoy in the 90s, but sadly none of his single solo hits have worked at the box-office since 2001. Recently, Salman tried to resurrect his career with Race , but only time can tell if Bobby will be able to win back his lost glory.

Suniel Shetty

Not a month passed by in 90s without Suniel Shetty delivering at least one superhit film. However, since 2000s his only memorable roles have been as a supporting cast and this hit machine of 90s has also not given a single solo hit as a lead since the turn of the century.

Madhuri Dixit

Before you throw Devdas on me, the film was a hit for sure but Madhuri and her performance, although a major contributor to its success, is not the sole reason why the film worked. Aishwarya Rai and above all Shah Rukh shared the success of Devdas with Madhuri. But, apart from one Devdas none of the single lead films like Aaja Nachle and Gulaab Gang of Madhuri has worked at the box-office.
