Salman Khan's Last 10 Forgettable Special Appearances And Cameos

Salman Khan's Last 10 Forgettable Special Appearances And Cameos

Salman Khan's last film, Race 3 has emerged as just an above average runner. That's perhaps law of averages catching up (yet again after Tubelight) since otherwise the superstar has been consistently delivering hits, superhits and blockbusters, as was the case with his last release Tiger Zinda Hai as well.

That said, the same can't be said about his many cameos and special appearances. Reason being that in last so many years, his presence in several films (some major, some forgettable) has hardly made any major contribution to their eventual fortune. Though he would be making such appearances in Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se, Zero and Loveratri later this year, let's take a look at his last 10 such appearances:

     Welcome To New York

This year Salman Khan has already been seen in a cameo for Sonakshi Sinha's Welcome To New York. He had a couple of scenes and a song, all strictly forgettable with no real contribution been made to the plot. Though it was said to be integral as Sonakshi, who plays a dress designer, had to put together a costume for Salman Khan during an IIFA appearance, the results were totally forgettable.

     Judwaa 2

Last year, Salman Khan returned two decades after his own Judwaa in Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2. He did that for friends Sajid Nadiadwala and David Dhawan, and also for some nostalgia quotient. His appearance was promoted heavily as well but the scene in which he featured in a double role was totally forced into the plot. It also seemed a little disjointed though one has to admit that it was still marginally funny at least.

     Hanuman Da' Damdaar

Hanuman Da' Damdaar was an animation film and Salman Khan lent his voice for the title role of Hanuman. There was hardly any promotion or marketing effort, and audiences didn't warm up to his presence either. As a result, neither kids nor adults were enticed and the film just came and disappeared. No one really knows about the real contribution that was made by Salman for the film.

     Main Tera Hero

Salman Khan played voice of God in Main Tera Hero as well. He was the one who either reprimanded or guided the character played by Varun Dhawan whenever he found himself into the middle of any mess. It was actually reasonably well integrated into the narrative by director David Dhawan. To give credit where it is due, this one worked well for the film.

     O Teri

For brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, Salman Khan did a song-n-dance appearance in O Teri. Neither did the song work for the film nor did Salman Khan moves. No one really remembers the song while the Pulkit Samrat and Bilal Amrohi starrer was a commercial washout too.

     Fugly

When Akshay Kumar produced Fugly with director Kabir Sadanand, Salman Khan was roped in for a special song-n-dance number. It featured both superstars Salman and Akshay, and was projected as the highlight of the film. The title song had turned out to be just about decent and the video too was only fair. Not that any of it helped the film commercially as it couldn't do much at the box office.

     Phata Poster Nikhla Hero

Salman Khan's Last 10 forgettable Special Appearances And Cameos

Salman Khan played a cameo in Shahid Kapoor's Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. This was the second time that the superstar made an appearance for a Raj Kumar Santoshi directed film. Though it had brought in quite a few chuckles in case of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani, courtesy some real life references to his love story with leading lady Katrina Kaif, there wasn't much of an impression made in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero.

     Ishkq In Paris

Salman Khan's Last 10 forgettable Special Appearances And Cameos

For Preity Zinta's Ishkq In Paris, Salman Khan featured in a dance number alongside her. However do you even remember which was that song? Well, to re-jig your memory, it went by the title 'Kudiye di kurti'. Neither does one remember the tune nor does the manner in which it was choreographed. Though the makers did try to project his presence in the film as really special, nothing really came out of it.

     Son of Sardaar

Son of Sardaar featured heavyweights Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt. With Salman Khan added to the cast, albeit for just a cameo, it indeed did lend weight to the proceedings. He featured in a short scene at the beginning of the film followed by a song. Masses did lap up the coming together of the trio and it did help gaining the film's initial to some extent. That said, as is always the case, this one was forced too.

     Tell Me O Kkhuda

Salman Khan had made a promise to veteran actress Hema Malini that he would feature in a cameo whenever she wanted him to do the favor. Hence, for her daughter's comeback film Tell Me O Khhuda, the actress did call upon the superstar. He arrived on the sets, did a song and we too had to Google search to find out that it went by the title 'Someone Somebody'. Well, honestly we don't recollect anything here!
