Stree v/s Badhaai Ho: Who Won The Content Battle At The Box-Office?

One simply cannot stress enough on the fact that content has literally ruled Bollywood this year. All the big ticket successes of Bollywood this year, apart from a few, had actually decent content and mindless films were rare. Talking about the content-driven films, 2018 has truly been a surprising year.

Of all the content films that surprised us with their win at the box-office, two that clearly stood out were Stree and Baadhai. 
Their unique concepts and splendid performances made sure that the films minted money that would put even big-ticket super hits to shame. But if a comparison is made between the two in terms of their box-office performance, then who do you think would emerge as the winner? Let's find out.

Opening Day Collection

Stree opened to a superb collection of 6.82 crores, but Badhaai Ho trumped over Stree in terms of opening collection and earned 7.29 crores on its first day.

Opening Day Occupancy Rate

Badhaai Ho won the battle of occupancy rates as well. While Stree opened to an occupancy rate of 20-25%, Badhaai Ho registered a solid occupancy rate of 30-35% on its opening.

Opening Weekend Collection

Looks like we have a clear winner in terms of opening weekend collection as well. While Stree surpassed everyone's expectations by collecting a whopping 31.26 crores, Badhaai Ho dropped the mic with a whopping 45.06 on its first weekend.

Second Weekend Collection 

One of the main factors behind the success of these two films has been positive word of mouth which made sure that their winning streak at the box-office sustained for quite some time. While Stree set the record by earning by earning about 9.50 crores on its second weekend, Badhaai Ho broke the record by earning an unbelievable 18.5 crores at the end of its second weekend.

From the figures it is quite clear that Badhaai Ho is all set to win this battle of content at the box-office against Stree.
